Oxy
OXY, the brand for acne, is not the first listing for Google for "oxy." How can that be? OXYNation is what should be the first listing for OXY, especially with such a great site.
Part of the problem is not using keywords properly (even those that are part of the keyword tags including: acne, OXY, OXYnation, acne solutions, oxymom, skin care advice, best acne treatment, acne medicine, teen acne, teen boy acne). In addition, the site is almost invisible to Google and certainly isn't associated with any of these terms. Visit the OXYNation site.
The other issue is that there are limited links into and out of the site. Linking with relevant sites might help search results as well. Having more links into the site will help even more. We're conducting an experiment at my company to see if we can impact the ranking in less than a week. It's all part of a greater effort to understand how Google works, a key reason this blog exists.
